Wine Service Training Continues…

Sales and quality service are ethical when it comes to wine, and our waiters and waitresses are hard at work to deliver first class service at all times. A few months back several of our employees went for the Wine Service Training which saw a growth in our service to clients when it comes to pairing wine with certain foods. All this contributes to giving us the edge in the market place when it comes to our restaurant. Training commenced again on the 3rd of August 2015 and we hope this final straw will be an epic one for all waiters and waitresses. We also mentioned that as a hotel operating in the tourism industry, our policy needed to highlight our sustainability when it comes to job creation and service delivery. One can argue how the two are linked, but over the years we have learned to create skills that will sustain us for a very long time. One of the ways in which we did this was to start investing in our own employees to enhance their skills in certain sectors of the business that will also benefit us as a hotel to give the best service. We invested in a year’s course to take some of our waiters and waitresses to a Wine Service Training Course that will ensure a certification in Oenology which is the study and art of wine. The training includes informal wine tasting and the pairing of wine with different foods e.g. the pairing of red wine with red meat. Oenology is not just about the tasting of wines and attending formal seminars, trainees also learnt a fundamental aspects of the study which is how to present the wine and sell it to customers. The training course will see these groups of individuals continue with the course which will end in a theoretical phase of the study. As Vaalnest we hope this will add value in our restaurant and ensures that customers are happy with our service at all times.
