Earth Hour, make your Mark this Saturday

Remember participation in Earth Hour symbolises a true commitment to change beyond the hour!

Vaalnest Boutique Hotel shares its view on Earth Hour, and since we are environmentally conscious we pledge to celebrate this day and remind people what it symbolizes. According to research Earth Hour is known to be a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The history dates back in Sydney, Australia in 2007 where it all started and has since grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide. As impressive as that may sound today Earth Hour engages even more cities across the globe and more people are becoming aware of this movement and take part in other various tasks as a symbol for their commitment to the planet. Earth Hour is a symbolic action therefore Vaalnest Boutique Hotel takes this initiative to encourage individuals, businesses in South Africa and around the world and governments to take full accountability for their ecological footprint like we do. Our hotel engages in the measurement of energy/carbon reduction levels for the hour itself. With that in mind we must engage in a dialogue and allocate resources needed and go as far as exchange these with various institutions to provide ideal solutions to our environmental challenges.
